Sometimes when you experience an event that reminds you of the trauma you have been through, it causes you to react the same way the past trauma affected you. If you never received your healing from when you were violated at nine years old, you would react as if you were getting violated again and respond to the situation as if you were nine years old. Pain recognizes pain, but it doesn’t separate the incident. I have had so many incidents where I have overreacted to situations, and I took simple things so deeply. I didn’t realize I was reacting to past pain. I am a nurse, and we learn how to clean wounds and what topical medications and bandages would go best with the type of wound that was present. I have seen wounds that have been untreated for months, and they would have foul smelly drainage and create an opening in a person’s body as big as a fist. It sounds terrible and neglectful for someone to allow a wound to get that bad without giving it the proper treatment. That is exactly what we tend to do with our soul wounds. If we don’t receive the proper treatment, our souls will have an odor, and the wound will be so wide that it will harm ourselves and others. I no longer want people to smell the aroma of anger, rage, depression, sadness, defeat, anxiety, suicide ideation, or any other unpleasant odors on me. It’s time to receive your healing. Start journaling about your feelings, read the bible, find a book related to your pain, pray, and get the necessary help you need to heal. You are NOT ALONE. God is with you through this journey ask him for his help; HE desires for you to be healed and whole.
